Research on gender-affirming care for youth
(2024-present)

Evaluating, implementing and bolstering capacity for gender-affirming care in Québec

Starting in Fall 2024, my work has focused on gender-affirming services offered to children and adolescents. Long-term research is sorely needed to bolster access to high-quality care among trans, non-binary, and otherwise gender diverse youth. In my work at the CHU Ste-Justine’s Gender Diversity Clinic, the largest interdisciplinary gender clinic in Québec, we are gathering long-term, longitudinal data to better understand the outcomes of pediatric gender-affirming care. We are also conducting various network- and capacity-building projects to better understand service gaps and avenues for improvement.

Cannabis and mental health research (2017-2024)

Exploring cannabis use and mental health in sexually and gender diverse youth: A mixed methods, community-based approach

My masters and PhD research focused on the association between cannabis use and mental health among queer and trans youth. In doing this work, I aimed above all to benefit my queer and trans community. This meant conducting research that produced meaningful findings for us, but also centred young queer and trans people throughout its entire process.
